Landlords can register for an account for properties they own/manage to upload documentation, refer renters to apply, check the status of their renter's application, and view payment information for approved applications.

Before completing the registration, review the basics below.
  • Your property must be in the City of Austin Full Purpose Jurisdiction. Click the map here and locate your address if you are unsure if your property is in the Jurisdiction.
  • To receive assistance, the renter must apply and be determined as eligible for assistance. To view the eligibility criteria, refer to the FAQs for more information.
  • The Program can pay for up to 12-15 months of rental assistance payments, including payments in arrears and upcoming payments due through December 2021, and eligible households will be recertified every 3 months to determine eligibility for continued assistance, until funds are expended.
  • The applicant must be a renter, without any homeownership interest in the property on the application, and must not be receiving housing subsidy (e.g. Section 8/Housing Choice Voucher, Project-Based Voucher, or Public Housing).
Landlord Registration
Landlords may setup an account to manage information for one or more properties all in one place. This includes managers of multiple properties (e.g. 123 Apple Ave and 987 Pear Pl), and managers where multiple units are located in one property (e.g. apartment complexes and other multi-family properties).

Have multiple staff members that need to look up or provide information? Landlords should only setup one account per entity based on the managing entity’s EIN/SSN. If you have more than one staff member that needs access to applicant information, please register for only one account and use shared log-in credentials.
Landlord Documentation
Upon registering, landlords are provided with a Landlord Referral Code that can be given to their applicants to apply for the Program, which directly links the renter to the landlord in the Portal.
